Jacques Le Flaguais (1921-1986)

He was a cartoonist born in Tours, France in 1921.

A tour as a cabaret singer with Edith Piaf brought him to New York and then Canada in 1948. He stayed in Montreal and worked in a hotel before taking on work as a poster-artist and advertising cartoonist.

He designed covers for the New Yorker. His covers and drawings were reproduced in the Reader's Digest and he contributed cartoons to the Montreal Weekend Magazine.

He was commissioned by TCA (Trans Canada Airlines) to design a series of posters for destinations serviced by the carrier.
